Flanders Man Charged With DWI Had Child In Car: PD
He's facing felony charges, police say.
RIVERSIDE, NY — A Flanders man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child in the car on Friday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at about 11:58 p.m. when officers saw a driver committing multiple traffic infractions on Flanders Road in Riverside.
The vehicle was stopped and upon further investigation, the driver, Edwin Llapa, 30, Flanders, was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated with a child passenger, police said.

Llapa was arrested and charged with felony DWI, Leandra's Law; driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction within 10 years, a felony; endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor; second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor; and numerous traffic infractions, police said.
