Gunman Caught After Shooting on Shinnecock Reservation: Police

A resident of the Shinnecock Reservation was taken to Stony Brook with multiple, non-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - A gunman on the Shinnecock Reservation in Southampton was arrested Monday after a shooting that left a victim with multiple gunshot wounds, police said

According to New York State Police, the shooting took place at 9:10 p.m.; police responded to the Reservation and found that a resident had been taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with multiple, non-life threatening injuries.

Justin Eleazer, 26, of Southampton, was arrested and charged with second degree assault, a felony, second degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, second degree criminal use of a firearm, a felony, and second degree menacing, a misdemeanor, police said.

Eleazer was scheduled for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court on Wednesday, police said.
