Heroin, Methadone Found in Car After Traffic Stop: Police

The woman was also wanted on a warrant out of Suffolk County, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - A traffic stop led to a woman's arrest after she was found with heroin and methadone, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, on Monday at 4 p.m., officers on patrol in Riverside noticed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker.

When the officer stopped the vehicle he found it to be unregistered, uninsured, and the registration plates to be incorrect, police said.

The driver, 29, of Medford was issued a summons for a suspended registration and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, police said.

Her passenger, a woman, 27, of Medford, was found to be in possession of a quantity of heroin and methadone, police said. She was arrested and processed charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and released to Suffolk County Police Department after she was found to have an active warrant for Suffolk County, police said.
