Heroin Sold By Dealer Linked To Overdoses In Southampton: Police
BREAKING: He threw the heroin out his car window while being pursued; the dangerous drug led officers to seek medical treatment, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A dealer whose heroin is believed to be linked to several overdoses in Southampton and Suffolk County is now behind bars, police said.
On August 9, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office East End Drug Task Force arrested Charles Kendall Johnson, 32, of Ludlam Avenue in Riverside, after a lengthy investigation into narcotic sales within Southampton Town, police said.
The investigation revealed that Johnson was selling heroin within the town, as well as other areas of Suffolk County, and the heroin is believed to linked to overdoses, police said.

Southampton Town police officers from the community response unit attempted to stop Johnson, who was driving a 2017 Chevy Malibu on Riverleigh Avenue, police said.
Johnson did not immediately stop his vehicle and, before finally pulling over, dispensed what was believed to be heroin out the driver's side window, exposing the public and the police officers to serious physical injury, police said.

The exposure to the dangerous narcotic led two Southampton Town police officers to seek medical attention, police said.
Johnson was processed and held for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, where he was remanded to Suffolk County Jail in lieuof $12,500 bail, police said.
