Efficiency (Common Core) vs Humanity (Your Family)
Pondering ‘the-common-core’ early this frozen January morning lead me to think what if business had a ‘common core’ what if hospitals had a ‘common core’ maybe this is the basis of “The Robert Wood Johnson Bill.” What about our government does the Congress or the Senate have a ‘common core’ and what it would look like and what would be the effects.

Another definition that can be applied to ‘common core’ is ‘efficiency’. Efficiency is perfect when practicing water conservation, improving traffic flow or reducing the size of landfills but just as in medicine the difference between poison and a cure is the dosage.

I read an article about Ted Turner (the media entrepreneur) several years back as he was taking stock of his life. Ted Turner said two very important things ‘that one of his biggest regrets is that he wished he had better relationships with his children and that he would have liked to have been a better ‘humanitarian.’
In a lot of scenarios humanity and efficiency are competitors on opposite side of the seesaw (scale) and if efficiency (technology) has the lion’s share then humanity (people/ employment/ communities/ countries) have very little (opportunity for better quality of life).
The result of this imbalance leads to the creation of regional monopolies; less choice is never in the public’s interest. Can you imagine having only one petrol station in town, one café, one restaurant, one pool company, one lawyer, one real estate agency, one pharmacy or one bank?
Life is not perfect and those not so pleasant experiences and daily competitions to be the best in our chosen endeavor along with encounters we have as children and as adults give us the knowledge to survive future challenges in this world.
Take a couple of hours and become a better humanitarian it’s in your best interest, it’s in all of our best interest.
