International Brunch Series @ The Watermill Center

June 12, 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm

During select Sundays this spring, The Watermill Center invites the community to join us for our International Brunch Series. Working in partnership with local chefs and farm stands, brunch at The Center is a unique opportunity to share a delicious meal with our artists. This Spring, artists join us from Chile, Cuba, Germany, Mexico and the United States.

An intimate experience taking place in Watermill’s dining room and on terraces throughout our grounds, each meal will offer an artful experience.

Dishes in the International Brunch Series will reflect the local food culture of Long Island’s East End.

Each brunch takes place from 12:00pm – 2:30pm at The Watermill Center.
Advanced registration is required. Capacity is limited.
The planned menu will be available one week before each brunch.

About the Chef | Eva Schmidt
Eva Schmidt, a Culinary Artist in Residence at The Watermill Center, comes from a visual and performing arts background. She has been working as a multidisciplinary artist and performer in New York City for ten years, and for the last four, has transitioned into the culinary arts. She finds that these creative facets equally nourish, inform and sustain one another.

Schmidt’s cooking is influenced by her love for color, movement, image, and balancing flavors and aspires to have these interests reflected as questions in her food. How might color compose a meal, flavors move and find balance in the mouth, or images be recalled and created in taste?

To Eva, preparing food is a creative and performative action. She believes that food, like art, has the ability to heal and be far reaching. Currently, Schmidt is studying Ayurveda – an ancient Indian science of healing based on food – and is training to be an Ayurvedic chef with Bhagavat Life in NYC.

Reservations for each brunch are available for a donation of $75 per person.
*The Watermill Center Byrds and Collaborators of The Watermill Center at the Costume Designer level and above are eligible for a 10% discount, with a limit of two discounted tickets per member.
