Isolated Main Street Power Outage Leaves Some Businesses in the Dark

UPDATE 2:43 p.m.:  Power was restored at 2:37 p.m.

Previously:

Despite losing power slightly before noon on Friday, Village Gourmet Cheese Shoppe in Southampton Village remains open.

Offices that share the 11 Main Street building are also in the dark, while the other businesses on the northwest corner of Main Street and Jobs Lane are closed for the season or vacant anyway.

Without power, 11 Main Street also lost heat, but the building has retained sufficient heat from before the power outage to stay open.

Silver's also lost service, but has a back-up generator that kept the power up and running.

While no LIPA crews were spotted near the corner by 2 p.m., lipower.org states that power is expected to be restored around 4 p.m.
