It's A Dog's Life: Murphy, 2-Year-Old Cavapoo, 'Velcro Dog'

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — In our new column, "It's A Dog's (Or Cat's) Life we've invited Patch readers to share the stories of the pets that make their lives special. Here's today's entry sent in by a Southampton resident, Carla.

"Murphy is a 2-year-old Cavapoo" — A Cavapoo is a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and poodle — "who has earned his nickname as a 'velcro' dog," she said.

"He has loads of puppy energy, which keeps us motivated to stay active. He is with us almost all the time and loves his walks in the village. When we do leave him home, he welcomes us like it’s been years; his whole body seems to wag with happiness. P.S. He loves that blue bone!"
