It's A Dog's (Or Cat's) Life

LONG ISLAND, NY — Pets are part of what makes our lives wonderful. Our dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, chickens and horses all paint the canvas of our collective lives with love, joy, humor and yes, sometimes crazy experiences.

Patch wants to see your pets. We want to see their photos and, in this brand-new weekly column, we want you to share the stories that make your pets special.

My dog Daisy, for example, is a beagle and a downright food hound. Don't leave your dinner anywhere near her — last week, she ate an entire personal pie the Door Dash drive left on the deck before I'd even known it had arrived! She also loves to chew and hides my shoes whenever she can. And, she's figured out how to honk the horn, when we're in the car.

But she's also the most loyal, loving, gentle girl on earth. She's my ride-or-die on car trips, and she loves nothing more than snuggling under the covers by my feet every night.

Patch wants to hear your dog (or cat, or chicken) tales. Send photos of your beloved four-legged buddies, as well as a short few paragraphs about what makes them special, extraordinary, or about the hilarious things they have done — and why you can't imagine your life without them.
