Job Fair For 2018 U.S. Open Golf Championship Friday

Open positions include licensed security guards, action station attendants, bartenders, beverage managers, buffet managers and dishwashers.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An East End job fair will be held with a plethora of posts available for the U.S. Open Golf Championship.

According to Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, the job fair, hosted by the Suffolk County Department of Labor, will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, located at 116 Hampton Road, to recruit candidates and fill open positions for the 2018 U.S. Open Golf Championship.

The event will be hosted in partnership with Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman, Suffolk County Legislator Bridget Fleming and Southampton Village Mayor Michael Irving.

The U.S. Open Golf Championship will be held from June 11 to 17 at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, marking the fifth time that the golf championship will be held at the historic golf course.

Open positions include, but are not limited to, licensed security guards, action station attendants, bartenders, beverage managers, buffet managers, dishwashers, event ambassadors, kitchen assistants, shuttle attendants, operations helpers, parking attendants, production assistants, servers, sous chefs, tent chefs, and tent supervisors, Bellone said.

Suffolk County is supporting the recruiting efforts of multiple USGA vendors, including Purple Tie by Ridgewells, MTK Resources, Country Club Services, and Andy Frain Services. In partnership with the Suffolk County Department of Labor, all respective employers will manage the recruitment, hiring and training of event staff.
