LI Man Charged With DWI After Christmas Crash: Police

EAST QUOGUE, NY — An East Quogue man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a Christmas crash, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 7:51 p.m. on Ocean Avenue in East Quogue. A 2024 Chevrolet that had been traveling southbound on Ocean Avenue collided with a parked car and then struck a mailbox, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Yovanny E. Monsalve, 46, was arrested at the scene and then transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing; he was charged with misdemeanor DWI and held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
