LI Man Charged With Raping Child Under 17: Police
The Northampton man was charged with first-degree rape after an incident stemming back to 2017; bail was set at $10,000, police say.
NORTHAMPTON, NY — A Northampton man was arrested Thursday and charged with raping a child under 17, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, Jose Hernandez, 39, turned himself in to the detective division and was charged with first-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
The investigation leading up to the arrest stemmed from a 2017 case in which Hernandez engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 17, police said.
