LI Man Used $4K In Movie Prop Money To Buy A Car: PD
He's facing a felony charge, police say.
RIVERSIDE, NY — A Brentwood man was arrested after he bought a $4,000 car using movie prop money, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, on October 23, a report came in from a man who said he had sold his vehicle in Riverside for $4,000 to a man who'd contacted him on Facebook Marketplace.
After the man had left with the car, the seller realized the money he received was fake, police said.

Following an investigation, Victor Marquez, 22, was stopped by Suffolk County Police while operating the vehicle on Nov. 26, police said.
He was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters after being arraigned in Suffolk County on their own charges; Marquez was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, and held for arraignment, police said.
