LI Elementary School Locks Down After Possible Weapon Threat: PD
A 911 call was placed about a dispute and someone possibly armed with a weapon; no threat was found, police say.
TUCKAHOE, NY — An East End elementary school went into lockdown Friday afternoon after the threat of a person possibly armed with a weapon, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, at 1:49 p.m., a call came in regarding a dispute and a male possibly armed with a weapon at the Tuckahoe School. Officers responded within minutes and searched the involved individuals; no weapon was found, police said.
During that time, a call was placed to the Tuckahoe School by a concerned person advising school staff about the 911 call, which sent the school into a lockdown, police said. Additional patrol officers and detectives responded to the school, searched the area, and found there was no threat, police said; the school resumed normal activities.
