LI Woman Was Driving While Ability Impaired By Drugs In Crash: Police

EAST QUOGUE, NY — A Speonk woman was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs after a crash in East Quogue Saturday afternoon, police said.

The single-car crash took place at 12:21 p.m. on Montauk Highway at the intersection of Sunset Avenue, Southampton Town police said. Amy Salle, 54, had lost control of her vehicle, which left the roadway and hit a fire hydrant and then a telephone pole, police said.

Salle, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was arrested and charged with DWAI by drugs, a misdemeanor, police said. She was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
