Driver Caught With Heroin After Traffic Stop: Cops

The motorist was stopped for speeding and found with heroin and marijuana, police said.

NORTHAMPTON, NY — A motorist was caught with heroin after a traffic stop, police said.

According to New York State Police, on Saturday at 12:50 a.m., Rahshell L. Gamble, 37, of Calverton, was driving on Lake Avenue north of County Road 51 in Northampton and was stopped for speeding.

Upon further investigation, Gamble was found to be in possession of marijuana and heroin, police said.

Gamble was arrested and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana; Gamble was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in Southampton Town Justice Court on Nov. 27, police said.
