Man Charged With DWI After Southampton Crash: Police

He was also found to be in possession of cocaine, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the two-car crash took place at 12:38 p.m. on Hills Station Road and Montauk Highway.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Anthony J. Grimaldi, 28, was driving a gray 2018 BMW while intoxicated; he was also found in possession of cocaine, police said.

He was arrested at the scene, transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing, and charged with misdemeanor DWI and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
