Man Charged With DWI In Stolen Vehicle: Police
He stole the running vehicle from a Riverside gas station and drove while intoxicated, police say.
RIVERSIDE, NY — A Coram man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in a car stolen from a Riverside gas station Monday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, Christopher Pappas, 41, was stopped at 9 p.m. near County Road 94 and the Long Island Expressway service road in Calverton after he stole a running vehicle from the Shell gas station on Lake Avenue.
Police determined that he was intoxicated; Pappas was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, previous conviction within 10 years, a felony; fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, police said.

Pappas was taken to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing and held to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment, police said.
