SAGAPONACK, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested after he was found to be driving while intoxicated and tried to conceal his identity, police said.
The incident took place on July 4 at 6:36 p.m. when a Southampton Town police patrol officer observed a motor vehicle headed east on Montauk Highway in Sagaponack in the
vicinity of Town Line Road, tailgating another motor vehicle and failing to maintain its lane of travel, police said.

An ensuing traffic stop investigation revealed that the driver was operating the motor vehicle in an
intoxicated condition, that his privilege to operate a motor vehicle was revoked, and that he produced an identification card of another in an effort to conceal his own identity, police said.
Carlos V. Segarra, 37, was arrested and charged with felony DWI, criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and numerous other traffic infractions, police said.

Segarra was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and held for morning
arraignment, police said.
