Man Charged With Felony DWI In Southampton: PD

He was driving unlicensed and gave police a fake name, authorities say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Brooklyn man was arrested Monday night and charged with driving while intoxicated in Southampton, police said.

Jason Pointdujour, 38, was arrested at 9:51 p.m. on County Road 39 near and charged with felony DWI; first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony; false personation, a misdemeanor; circumventing an interlock, a misdemeanor; and various traffic violations, Southampton Town police said.

Police received a report that there was a vehicle being driven erratically east on County Road 39 near St. Andrews Road and then, an officer located a vehicle matching the description on Old Sag Harbor Road, with the driver failing to maintain his lane of travel and driving on the shoulder, authorities said.

Pointdujour had a suspended license and initially gave the officer a fake name, police said.

He was taken to police headquarters where he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
