Man Charged With Firing Gun In Residential Neighborhood: Cops

He fired four shots from a .45 caliber handgun, police say.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A Riverside man was arrested Monday and charged with firing a gun in a residential neighborhood last year, police said.

Southampton Town Police detectives arrested Joe McKay, 46, of Brown Street and charged him with firing the gun at the intersection of Brown Street and Goodridge Avenue on May 9, 2018, police said. McKay was charged with first degree reckless endangerment, a felony, police said.

An investigation revealed that McKay fired four shots from a .45 caliber handgun in the residential neighborhood while several individuals were at the location, police said.

McKay was arraigned in Southampton Town Justice Court Tuesday morning where he was remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, police said.
