Man Charged With Trying To Sexually Abuse Disabled Rehab Patient: PD
The man is facing felony charges, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Mastic Beach man was arrested Thursday and charged with attempting to sexually assault a disabled person in Southampton, police said.
Isaiah Quaron James, 33, was arrested at 1:18 p.m. by Southampton Village police detectives and charged with first-degree attempted rape; first-degree attempted sexual abuse; first-degree criminal sexual act; and first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent of a physically disabled person, all felonies, authorities said.
On October 30 at about 5:20 p.m., the Southampton Village Police Department received a call from the Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation to report a possible sexual assault on a resident at the facility, police said.

Detectives commenced an investigation with the help of the New York State Police Department's forensic identification unit, police said.
James, an 11-year employee of the rehabilitation center, was identified as a person of interest; upon further investigation and the results of DNA testing from the Suffolk County crime lab on December 20, James was arrested and charged, police said.

James was arraigned Friday by Judge Michael Solomon at the Southampton Village Justice Court and remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverside in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond, police said. An order of protection was issued by the court for the person assaulted, police said.
