Man Charged With Stabbing Someone Multiple Times At Beach: Police
The person was stabbed in the stomach, hands and arms, police say.
NORTHAMPTON, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested and charged with stabbing someone repeatedly on a beach in Northampton, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, on Sunday at 6:27 p.m., officers responded to
Wildwood Lake Bathing Beach Park after a call regarding someone who had been stabbed multiple times in the stomach, hands, and arms.

The assailant was not at the scene but after an investigation, Southampton Town police detectives determined that Julio Cruz, 39, was responsible for the stabbing, police said.
Cruz subsequently turned himself in to police at 9:17 a.m. on Thursday; he was charged with first-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, police said.

Cruz was held for arraignment at Southampton Justice Court, police said.
