Man Charged With Stealing From Bridgehampton Phone Store: Police
He cut security tethers from a mobile device, police say.
BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — A Mt. Sinai man was arrested and charged with stealing from an AT&T store in Bridgehampton Saturday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, a report came in at 5:35 p.m. about a theft in progress at the store on Montauk Highway.
Michael Delvecchio, 29, stole merchandise from the shop after cutting security tethers from a mobile device, police said. Delvecchio was arrested and charged with grand larceny, a felony; possession of burglars' tools, a misdemeanor; and false personation, a misdemeanor, police said. In addition, Delvecchio was found to have an active warrant issued by Suffolk County Court, police said.

Delvecchio was taken to Southampton Town police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.
