Man Found Dead On Hamptons Beach

SHINNECOCK HILLS, NY — A man was found dead on the beach in the Hamptons Wednesday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, a call came in at 7:50 p.m. from a female who had been walking on the beach at Shinnecock Hills, saying that there was a male who was apparently deceased on the beach.

Responding patrol officers located the body and contacted Southampton Town detectives, police said.

The man is approximately 42 years old; Southampton Town detectives determined that his death was not believed to be suspicious, police said.

Suffolk County medical examiners responded and Southampton Town detectives are continuing the investigation in regard to the cause and movements of the man prior to being found, police said.

The man's name is being withheld pending notification to next of kin, police said.
