SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Florida man was arrested Saturday for menacing police officers during a traffic stop in Southampton, police said.

The incident took place at 11:30 a.m. when Southampton Town police arrested a 51-year-old of Clearwater, FL "for physically interfering with a traffic stop by threatening and physically menacing police officers," police said.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor, processed, and released on a desk appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date, police said.
