Man Seriously Injured in Bridgehampton Work Site Accident: Police

The accident was the second work-site related accident in two days. On Thursday, a Hampton Bays died after a forklift accident in Montauk.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY-A man was badly injured at a work site in Bridgehampton Friday, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police Sergeant Carl Schottenhamel, a call came in at 11:27 a.m. about an accident at 2510 Montauk Highway.

The man was initially reported to have sustained a serious leg injury, police said.

Sgt. Schottenhamel said Bridgehampton Ambulance responded to the scene and the man was airlifted to Stony Brook.

The accident is still under investigation, police said.
