Man Slashed In Assault On East End: Police
He was attacked by a man with an edged weapon and suffered a laceration, police say.
RIVERSIDE, NY — A Centereach man was injured in a Riverside assault Tuesday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, a call came in regarding a "victim of violence" at 11:10 p.m.; the incident took place at the intersection of Pine Street and County Road 104. Officers arrived and found a man bleeding from a laceration, police said.
After an investigation, officers determined that Robert E. Miller, 32, had attacked the man with an edged weapon, police said. Miller, who is homeless, was found, arrested, taken to police headquarters, and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, police said.

Police provided immediate medical care to the man who was hurt until Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived to take him to a hospital, authorities said.
