Massive Fire Destroys 1 Bridgehampton Home, 3 Others Damaged
16 fire departments from as far away as Montauk tackled the fierce blaze Friday night; 2 homes were occupied but all got out safely: PD
BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — A massive fire in Bridgehampton Friday night left one home totally destroyed and three others damaged, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, a call came in at 10:20 p.m. about a residence on fire on Fair Hills Lane.
Two additional homes caught on fire due to embers from the first residence and a fourth was also damaged, police said. A total of 16 volunteer fire departments from as far as Montauk and five volunteer ambulance companies responded to the scene, police said.

One residence was completely lost, one sustained severe damage, and another had moderate damage; the fourth home sustained minor damage, police said.
Homeowners at the second two homes were occupied, but the occupants were able to escape the houses safely and no injuries were reported, police said.

Fire marshals and Southampton Town detectives are investigating the cause of the fire, police said.
