Mom Left Child, 3, Locked In Hot Car In Hamptons: Cops
The child was found in distress, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A 3-year old child was found locked in a hot car in Southampton recently, police said.
According to Southampton Village Police, Florence Duhayer, 46, of Hoboken, N.J., was arrested on June 30 at 11:34 a.m. on Hampton Road and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
A 911 call came in about the child, who was in distress and locked in the car. Upon arrival, officers were able to retrieve the child through an open sunroof, police said.

The child had been in the car for about 20 minutes with temperatures around 75 degrees, police said.
The child was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Duhayer was processed and released on a desk appearance ticket; Child Protective Services was also notified.
