New Assistant Principal Announced in Sag Harbor

Betty Reynosa's first day at her new post was on Tuesday.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Sag Harbor School District students welcomed a new assistance principal on Tuesday.

Robelis "Betty" Reynoso lives in Southampton and began her career in the Southampton school district, where she began as a teaching assistant, with a focus on special education, according to a release.

“We are thrilled that Ms. Reynoso is joining the Sag Harbor Schools family,” said Superintendent of Schools Katy Graves. “She will bring a wealth of experience to Sag Harbor Elementary School.”

Reynosa worked in the Southampton School District for 15 years before taking a position as a social worker in the Manhasset School District, the release said. Next, in 2014, she was hired as a bilingual social worker by the Wainscott Common School District, where she has also served as an assistant to the superintendent of schools.

Reynoso, who has two children, has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in social work from Stony Brook University. She earned her school district administration certificate from Long Island University in Brookville, New York.

“I am so happy to be a part of the academic community and family,” she said. “What I’ve seen in this short amount of time, between students, parents and faculty, has truly been exceptional.”

The Sag Harbor School District officially Reynoso as Sag Harbor Elementary School’s new assistant principal on Oct. 24.
