New Sag Harbor Board Of Education Member Chosen

SAG HARBOR, NY — There's a new face on Sag Harbor's Board of Education.

At its regular meeting on Tuesday, the Sag Harbor Board of Education officially appointed Sag Harbor resident Susan Schaefer as its newest trustee. She will be officially sworn in on Jan. 22 and serve until the next election on May 15, the district said.

Schaefer’s appointment comes after trustee Thomas Schiavoni stepped down to serve on the Southampton town board member. She was one of 8 applicants to apply for the position, the district said.

“The district would like to express its thanks to all of the applicants who volunteered their time and expertise to this process,” said Superintendent of Schools Katy Graves.
