New Senior Guard Hired In Southampton To Ensure Student Safety

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton students will be welcoming a new senior security guard on the first day of school Thursday.
In an ongoing effort to ensure the safety of all students, staff and visitors, the Southampton School District has hired Franklin Trent as senior guard, school officials said.
According to Director of School Safety Mark Hannan, Trent will be responsible for the daily supervision of all district security guards and ensuring that the district’s security measures are operational.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Trent to our team,” said Hannan. “His diverse background will assist the district in protecting our students and staff.”
Trent previously served as an administrator at Little Flower Children’s Services and at Community Education Partners, where he was employed as the principal of operations and as a facilities manager. His most recent employment was with the Department of Human Services in Georgia, where he was a parental accountability coordinator, working with the judicial system to provide an alternative to incarceration.

A graduate of Southampton High School himself, Trent said he looks forward to returning to his roots on the East End of Long Island. “I am excited to be in the district and working with the students,” he said.
