Outdoor Film: The Shining

Join us Friday, August 12 at 8:30pm at Southampton Arts Center for an outdoor screening of the classic film The Shining.

A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future. Called “a masterpiece of modern horror” and “a tour-de-force of sheer terror” by the critics, Stanley Kubrick’s film is a chilling adaptation of Stephen King’s novel. The Shining combines eerie special effects, haunting performances by Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall, and an unmistakable aura of evil into a spectacular horror film.

FRIDAY NIGHT FILMS are offered FREE outdoors on our lawn – bring chairs, blankets and picnics!Southampton Arts Center is delighted to partner with Hamptons International Film Festival for the fourth year in a row to offer Free Outdoor Screenings of classic movies throughout the Summer. * Rain or Shine – in the event of rain, films will be shown indoors in the theater.
