Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Hamptons: Police

The incident took place Saturday night, police said.

WATER MILL, NY — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Water Mill Saturday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident happened at 11:01 p.m.; a person walking east on Montauk Highway east of Scuttle Hole Road crossed Montauk Highway and was struck by a 2019 Nissan, which was also heading east.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

The driver, 28, of Southampton, was uninjured and his car was impounded for a safety check, police said. No criminality is suspected, and no charges were filed, police said.
