Pedestrian Struck On County Road 39 In Southampton: Police

The incident took place Friday afternoon, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A pedestrian was struck on County Road 39 in Southampton Friday afternoon, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 3:25 p.m. on County Road 39 and North Sea Road.

Southampton Town Police and Southampton Village Police personnel responded to help Alan Snider, 75, of Southampton, officials said. Snider had been attempting to cross County Road 39 northbound from North Sea Road against traffic when he was struck by Aaron Sussman, 33, of Sound Beach, who was driving a Dodge work van, police said.

Snider was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; Sussman remained at the scene, no criminality was suspected and no charges were filed, police said.
