Pedestrian Who Died After Being Hit By Vehicle In Water Mill ID'd: PD
He was struck Saturday night in Water Mill, police say.
WATER MILL, NY — Police have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle in Water Mill Saturday night. Christopher Briscoe, 50, of Water Mill, died after he was struck; next of kin have been notified, Southampton Town police said.
The New York State Police Department's accident reconstruction unit responded and assisted detectives, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident happened at 11:01 p.m.; Briscoe, who was walking east on Montauk Highway east of Scuttle Hole Road, crossed Montauk Highway in a southerly direction and was struck by a 2019 Nissan, which was also heading east, police said.

Briscoe was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.
The driver, 28, of Southampton, was uninjured and his car was impounded for a safety check, police said. No criminality is suspected, and no charges were filed, police said.
