Photos: Hampton Classic Gets Off to A Galloping Start
The event is the highlight of the summer season in Bridgehampton.
BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — Let the races, shopping, eating and celebrating the beauty and talent of horses and their riders begin.
Everything was in place for a week of equestrian and family fun on Sunday, as the 2016 Hampton Classic Horse Show opened on Snake Hollow Road in Bridgehampton.
Although Sunday, the opening day of the 2016 Hampton Classic, marked the approaching end of the summer season on the East End, for serious equestrians, it was the beginning of a week of intense competition.

It's all about horses, from Sunday's "Hampton Classic Leadline", where young riders on ponies will be judged by their families and Olympic Gold medalist Joe Fargis, until Grand Prix Sunday on September 4, the day to see and be seen by celebrities.
The Hampton Classic Horse Show is popular because the event features something for everyone — riding competitions, shopping, fun for children, and plenty of food.
