Pierson High School's Class Of 2018 Graduates In Joyful Ceremony

SAG HARBOR, NY —Pierson High School's Class of 2018 made their families and hometown proud Saturday as they received their diplomas at a joyful commencement ceremony.

Featured graduation speakers included businessman Rohan Oza of ABC’s “Shark Tank," who spoke to the class about success and offered advice for the future.

“To win in life, be true to yourself — defy the experts," he said. He also encouraged the students to trust their instincts and create the culture of change that they want to see, according to district officials.

Valedictorian Leigh Hatfield and salutatorian Hope Brindle also spoke to their classmates, sharing memories as they wished their fellow graduates lives filled with happiness and success.

Sag Harbor Union Free School District students were also awarded local scholarships, totaling more than $200,000.
