Please help us find our missing foster dog!

Maddie spent her entire life as a lapdog for an elderly woman in Connecticut. When the woman developed dementia and could no longer care for her, Maddie came to me in Sag Harbor as my foster dog. Maddie was extremely skittish and in the 10 days she lived with me and my 8 year old son, she was only beginning to come to me.

Early Thursday morning, October 20th, we were at my son's father's home at the intersection of Bridgehampton Turnpike and Scuttlehole Road in Bridgehampton and Maddie, panicking in an unfamiliar place, pulled out of her collar. At first she stayed nearby, even coming into the house but then running out the door when I tried to close it behind her. Then, she disappeared.

We have been desperately searching for her ever since. There have been no sightings of Maddie despite many postings on websites, flyers throughout Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor, radio announcements, etc. We believe she is holed up somewhere, hiding. We have search the Long Pond Greenbelt behind the house where she first disappeared however we think it's more likely she found shelter in a neighboring yard, perhaps in a shed or under a house or deck.

We are asking residents to please check their yards for this sweet girl. We are also handing out flyers in the surrounding area around Bridgehampton turnpike, asking residents to search their property for any signs of Maddie.

We would be so grateful for help, either handing out flyers or searching the Greenbelt area.
