Pole Collapses Onto Vehicle After County Road 39 Crash: Police
County Road 39 was closed for several hours after the crash, but both westbound, and one eastbound, lane have since reopened, police said.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY —A crash in Southampton closed County Road 39 for several hours Friday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at about 11:35 a.m. on County Road 39 near Tuckahoe Lane. One of the drivers involved crashed into a pole, which collapsed on the vehicle and caused downed wires across the roadway, police said.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries, police said.

The roadway was closed for several hours after the crash; as of Friday at 5 p.m. both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane were open, police said.
