Police: East Quogue Man Attacked, Attempted to Rape Woman in Hampton Bays
The man attacked a woman who was leaving her job at Out of the Blue Seafood Market in Hampton Bays Saturday night, police say.

On Saturday at 9:49 p.m., the Southampton Town Police Department responded to a report of a robbery near Canoe Place Road and Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.
Police said a 21-year-old woman was leaving her place of employment, Out of the Blue Seafood Market located at 252 East Montauk Highway, when she was physically attacked by a man who wrestled her to the ground, covered her airway, and attempted to rape her.
The woman was able to fight her assailant off and when she screamed for help, he fled the area, police said.

Through subsequent investigation, Southampton Town Police detectives identified a person known to the victim, Abner A. Ortiz-Tezen, 21, of East Quogue, as the assailant, police said.
On Sunday, Ortiz-Tezen was arrested and charged with first degree attempted rape, first degree unlawful imprisonment, second degree assault and criminal obstruction of airway.

On Monday he was arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court, where he was remanded to Jail in lieu of $400,000 bail.
