Police: Five Charged With DWI Over the Weekend

Police reported five arrests within the Town of Southampton on Saturday and Sunday.

Five people were arrested on DWI charges this past weekend within the Town of Southampton, according to Southampton Town Police.

Police report the following arrests:

  • Alessandro Diomedi, 48, of Key Biscayne, FL, was arrested, on Saturday at about 1 a.m. on Ferry Road in North Haven. Diomedi was stopped for a traffic infraction and further investigation revealed he was driving while in an intoxicated condition. Diomedi was charged with DWI, was held overnight and arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court on Saturday.
  • Baltazar Hernandez-Galvan, 25, of Flanders was arrested, on Saturday at about 2 a.m. on Riverside Avenue in Flanders. He was stopped for a traffic infraction and further investigation revealed he was driving in an intoxicated condition. Hernandez-Galvan was charged with DWI, was held overnight and arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court on Saturday.
  • Lawrence James, 29, of Riverhead was arrested, on Saturday at about 3:50 a.m. on Wakeman Road in Hampton Bays. He was stopped for a traffic infraction and further investigation revealed the he was driving while in an intoxicated condition. James was charged with DWI, was held overnight and arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court on Saturday.
  • Simba Aponte, 38, of Mount Vernon, was arrested, on Sunday at about 3:30 a.m. on County Road 39 in Southampton. He was stopped for a traffic infraction and further investigation revealed he was driving while in an intoxicated condition. Aponte was charged with DWI, was held overnight and arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court on Saturday.
