Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In Crash
The motorcyclist collided with an SUV in a tragic crash, police said.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Police have identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Country Road 39 in Southampton on Wednesday.
According to Southampton Town Police, the crash took place at 7 a.m. when David Sargent, 23, of East Quogue, was driving a motorcycle west on CR 39 past Magee Street and collided with an SUV driven by Jorge Velasquez, 60, of Riverhead, who was heading eastbound and making a lefthand turn into Suffolk Laundry.
Sargent was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries; Velasquez was uninjured, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
