Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who tried to burglarize a Water Mill house last month.

On August 18 at 10 p.m., a man tried to enter the home by kicking open the door, police said.

The man fled when he was confronted by the homeowner who was inside the house, according to police.

The man had a thin build and was wearing a dark-hooded jacket and grey gloves, according to police.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
