Police: Southampton Teen Arrested on DWI Charge

The man was stopped after he was seen driving with his high beams on, police say.

A Southampton teen was arrested on a DWI charge in East Hampton Village on Saturday morning, according to East Hampton Village Police.

An officer saw Hugo Marsans, 19, driving southbound on North Main Street at about 2:45 a.m. with his high beams on, according to police.

He was also seen failing to signal lane change, moving from the lane unsafely, crossing over the double while lines on Main Street while driving at 48 mph, and driving at 62 mph on Woods Lane, police said.

The officer stopped Marsans on Montauk Highway and Buckskill Road.

Marsans’ breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were red and glassy, he fumbled with paperwork, was unsteady on his feet, said he was drinking alcohol and failed several sobriety tests, police said.

He was arrested on a DWI charge and transported to headquarters for processing, according to police.
