Police: Southampton Woman Robbed 2 Banks
The 50-year-old was arrested following a traffic stop last Friday, police say.

A Southampton woman arrested last Friday faces charges for robbing two banks, Southampton Town Police said.
According to police, Janet Terry, 50, robbed the Suffolk County National Bank on Second Street in Riverhead on March 19 and a Chase Bank on West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays on June 26.
In both robberies, Terry handed a teller a note demanding cash, police said.

Video surveillance helped identify Terry as the robber, police said, and last Friday at about 2 p.m., New York State troopers initiated a traffic stop of Terry, who was driving on Tadd Road in Southampton. She was taken into custody and Southampton Police charged her with third degree robbery and third degree criminal possession of a stolen property with regard to the Chase Bank robbery.
Terry was arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court on Saturday and remanded to jail on $10,000 bail. She is expected to be arraigned at Riverhead Town Justice Court on Tuesday for the Suffolk County National Bank robbery.

The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone with information on the robberies to contact Southampton detectives at 631-702-2230 or Riverhead detectives at 631-727-4500.
