Rash Of Property Thefts From Vehicles Reported In Hamptons: Cops

Here's what police suggest you do to keep property safe.

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — Police are investigating a rash of property thefts from cars in the Bridgehampton area.

According to Southampton Town Police, in recent days, Bridgehampton residents have reported that property has been stolen from their vehicles during the overnight hours.

Southampton Town Police told community members to take extra precautions when leaving valued property in parked cars overnight.

Recommendations include:

— Lock all doors and set alarms on vehicles.

— Park vehicles near motion detectors and/or video surveillance.

— Park vehicle in locked garage, if possible.

— Remove all valuables from sight.

— Call police immediately if valuables are stolen.
