'Reckless Driver' Charged With DWI In Southampton: Police

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Montauk man was arrested and charged with DWI in Southampton Thursday night, police said.

At just after 10:40 p.m., Southampton Town police said they received a 911 call about a "reckless driver" who was failing to maintain their lane on Sunrise Highway. A patrol officer found the vehicle on County Road 39, police said.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Montauk, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and failing to maintain his lane, a traffic infraction, police said.

He was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.
