Southampton Town Councilman Bradley Bender Accused of Selling Painkillers to Obtain Steroids: Report
Bender will reportedly resign from town board under plea deal.

Southampton Town Councilman Bradley Bender will resign from the town board and plead guilty to illegally distributing oxycodone, according to a Newsday report.
Bender, who was elected to the town board in 2013, allegedly obtained the painkillers from Michael Troyan, the Riverhead physician assistant charged earlier this month with conspiring to illegally distribute oxycodone. Bender, 52, then allegedly sold the oxycodone in exchange for steroids and cash, Newsday reported.
Bender, of Northampton, surrendered to federal authorities Tuesday in Central Islip, where he will be arraigned.
